Storyline

Once each year Superman and Jimmy Olsen bet their crime-fighting skills against those of Batman and Robin. But as the two heroes participate in various contests of skill, their respective Revenge Squads try to sabotage them.

This story has colored-in panel gutters on many pages. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ Inks credit is disputed. Neal Adams is one candidate; Dick Giordano is another. Adams inks are supported by original art collector Victor Lim, and by GCD members Tony Rose, Bob Bailey, and Gene Reed. In a recent checklist of Adams's comics work, Adams claimed the inks (per a report on gcd-main by Allen Ross). The story was published with Adams "art" or "inks" credit in: • *Super-Team Family *#1 (1975) • *Superman in the Sixties *(1999, p. 4) Giordano claimed the inks credit in at least two published sources: • *Green Lantern/Green Arrow *#2 (1983) • *Dick Giordano: Changing Comics, One Day at a Time *(2003, p. 47; see also p. 161) In an earlier checklist of Adams's comics work, Adams credited Giordano with inks (per a report on gcd-main by Jim Van Dore). A scientist builds a robot brain which teleports a Martian to Earth. After the scientist dies the Martian is trapped here, so he decides to become a police detective

Script (only) attributed to Jack Miller by Rich Morrissey, but disputed by Bob Hughes. Samachson is current DC credit, as seen in Showcase Presents: Martian Manhunter (DC, 2007 series) #1. On the last page, second to last panel, the last sentence of the chief's dialog has been altered in this reprint from "You'll be on the force tomorrow!" to "You'll take your examination tomorrow!". The Next Issue caption at the end has also been replaced.
